renowned for an upbeat personality, and her love of the sport
As a newcomer to the 10m synchro event in 2005, Roseline Filion and her partner Meaghan Benfeito made a big statement in the international diving community by winning bronze medals at the FINA Grand Prix Super Final and the FINA World Aquatic Championships in their hometown of Montreal, Canada.
Since their successful debut in the event, the young team has become renowned for their upbeat personalities, their deep friendship, and their love of competition. Benfeito and Filion have proudly built upon their early successes by capturing three silver and four bronze medals on the FINA Grand Prix circuit (2005-2008), and bronze medals at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and 2006 FINA World Cup.
Another major highlight of their young career occurred in the summer of 2008 at Diving Canada’s Olympic trials, when Benfeito and Filion beat out Canadian team-mates Emilie Heymans and Marie Eve Marleau the 2008 FINA World Series 10m synchro champions -- to qualify for their first Olympic Games. The two went on to place 7th in Beijing.
