Tom Daley's Biography

14-year-old Tom became England's youngest ever National Champion when he won 10m Platform gold at the 2007 ASA Championships. Platform diver Daley was given special compensation to compete at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival in 2007 against athletes up to six years his senior.

Tom made his senior international debut in May 2007, finishing fourth in the 10m Platform at the Madrid FINA Diving Grand Prix, after clocking up a lifetime best score of 480.05 in the prelims.

Since then he has continued to astonish all with a string of impressive performances including his appearance in the final of the 10m Platform 2007 event in Sheffield, coming 4th in the 10m Platform and 5th in the 10m Synchro.

Tom became 10m Platform European Champion in March last year when he faced up to and beat Germany's Sascha Klein who just a month previously took the title in the event at the World Cup test event in Beijing.

When he competed in Beijing Tom secured 8th place in the 10m synchro with his partner Blake Aldridge. He continued to keep his cool in the individual event when he progressed to the final and finished in seventh place overall.
