Fina Diving World Series Passes Go on Sale
Tickets to see the world's best diving champions in action are now on sale.
Seats for the two-day event, taking place at Ponds Forge ISC, Sheffield on April 18-19, are expected to be in high demand this year with British diving sensations 14-year-old Tom Daley and up and coming twin diving stars Helen and Carol Galashan taking part.
Olympic Champions Matt Mitcham (AUS) and Chen Ruolin (CHN) will also be among the many divers who will descend on Sheffield to contest the highly prized FINA DWS titles.
The Sheffield International Venues managed Ponds Forge ISC offers some of the best diving facilities in the UK and is seen as a hothouse for diving talent with many of the British Olympians training competitively at the pool every week.
The FINA Diving World Series began as a world-class competition two years ago and was seen as an opportunity to showcase the best international talent to a worldwide television audience.
Entry into the event is by invitation only to the world's highest ranked divers and a number of "wild cards" given to the Host nation. Top divers include Olympic gold medallists, world and European champions, and the cream of the UK diving squad.
Sheffield is one of four legs taking place within the worldwide series with China, Qatar and Mexico also hosting events. Divers from 15 nations will be travelling the globe to take part in each heat with the eventual winners claiming cash prizes.
In order to appeal to a wide audience the tickets have been priced at £10 for one day or £15 for both days for adults. Tickets for under-16s are £5 per day or £7.50 for both days Family tickets are also available as well as group discounts.
Katie Brazier from British Swimming, organisers of the event, said: "We think this is great value as the FINA DWS offers a great day out for the whole family. It's exciting, fast and the sheer skills exhibited by the divers are breathtaking. We hope that Sheffield and sports enthusiasts from across the UK will come and support our British divers by cheering them on and adding to the already electric atmosphere."
